Are you are crunchy nut?

I like cereal. No that's not entirely true. I like cereals that have some kind if sweet coating or ingredient.

When I was young I used to eat Cornflakes. Only the premium brand would do. However in those days my cornflakes were eaten with full fat milk and sprinkled in granulated sugar. I used to love the way the milk would become sweetened by the sugar and I would stuff down the bowl before the flakes would go soggy. I don't like soggy flakes.

When I was young I used to love holidays because holidays would often signify the purchase of the cereal variety pack. These packs contained Frosties and Coco Pops. Fantastic you seriously couldn't go wrong with these cereals. Just perfect.

Nowadays full fat milk is a distant memory but my liking for cereal has remained. I go through fads of liking different types but a firm favourite of the years has to be Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. I sometimes literally crave a bowl. Pouring out the flakes covered in honey sweetness and nut crunchiness from a brand new packet and then smothering them with crisp, fresh cold milk. Just describing it makes my mouth water. Invariably if the conditions are such I will eat a second and perhaps a third helping.

My guilty pleasure is having a bowl upon returning home from work. How decadent!!

Polka dot, 7 inches, 15 minutes, luke warm

January 2010 and a new craze hit Facebook. Across the social network women started to post colours as their status. Some posted beige, some ivory, some hot pink, some polka dot. For a while people across the world were confused, intrigued, indeed fascinated by what these colours could mean. In fact the colours referred to the colour of the bra the woman was wearing that particular day. This 'craze' was in aid of a breast cancer awareness campaign a fantastic cause and in my opinion a clever and innovative use of Facebook. Over the last couple of days some of the ladies have begun to post a length measured in inches followed by a time in minutes. This has resulted in a status that might read '6 inches 25 minutes'. What's Your Station?

One of my most vivid memories is completing my Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition in the New Forest one October half term. It must have been 1987 as Mike Smith was the Radio 1 breakfast host and I remember cooking bacon on the Trangia stove, in a field behind a scout hut in Fordingbridge, whilst listening to T'Pau's new single China in Your Hand, it was a gorgeous Autumn morning.  http://asymptotia.com/wp-images/2007/08/Radio_dynamo.jpg I had a red plastic battery operated radio that we listened to as we walked.
