Arguably the best meal of the year

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope that Santa made it to everyone safe and sound and that everyone's day has been peaceful and full of love.

By now I guess most people have eaten their fill of Christmas lunch with turkey and all the trimmings, followed by the Christmas pudding and obligatory brandy butter.

What follows are a few hours where the remnants of the feast are cleared away, the pot of tea comes out, maybe a snooze, some Christmas TV and a play with some of the children's presents.

Before you know it the time has arrived for the snack of the year, turkey sandwiches. Slices of turkey sprinkled in a little salt and sandwiched between two pieces of white bread. For me the cheap 'plastic' white bread is actually the best type.

I love my turkey sandwiches served with tomato ketchup on the side and accompanied by a cup of tea. However, mayo and a glass of your favourite tipple would be equally acceptable.

For some reason this meal is one of my highlights of Christmas. All that's needed now is a late night Christmas movie.
