Dangerous cleaning chemicals?

I've taken a few risks today. I have used some dangerous household chemicals to clean those things in the house that occasionally require deep cleaning; plug holes, ovens, scaled shower heads, toilets etc. In the process of doing these jobs I have taken my life into my own hands.

Firstly the oven, the cleaner I used is both corrosive and extremely flammable. An oven cleaner that is flammable now that is a dangerous combination. I am hoping I have rinsed it out properly I wouldn't want an explosion next time I cook some fish fingers. I wore rubber gloves but I have to admit to not donning safety googles and carrying out the whole operation in shorts and bare feet. I managed to get some of the oven cleaner on my arm and I didn't wash it off. It has not burnt into my skin as the health and safety picture suggests, which is slightly disappointing.

I bought a strong descaler for the shower head. This was also highly corrosive containing both sulphamic and phosphoric acids. It was rubbish. I still had to scrub and even use a pin to make sure all the holes were clear of scale. I used that without gloves.

The plug hole cleaner contains sodium hydroxide. I'm a bit more careful with that as I have seen the effects it has if it gets in ones eye. The thing about plug hole cleaners is you are never quite sure how effective it actually is. I would quite like them to come small remote camera so you can see the before and after effects.

Lastly the bleach I used for the toilet today was the strongest I could find. It did the trick, although I forgot it was down there and urinated before flushing. The toilet bubbled before by eyes and I was aware of a strong smell of chlorine, not enough to make me cough up my lungs. I checked the bottle, there is no warning about what I would imagine is a very frequent event.

Still at least the oven looks clean
