Flotsam and Jetsam
It's amazing what you can find on a beach.
I went for a little walk on the beach today, it was windy and a little chilly but the Sun came out and reflected off the sea making it a lovely little wander.
Being winter the sea had been a little rough and the remains of many sea creatures were in evidence washed up on the seashore.
The picture shows a selection of items that were found including:
Scallops,
Edible crab carapace with eyes still intact,
Mussels,
Oysters,
Whelks,
Dogfish egg sacs,
Cuttlefish
These items were in abundance and only those that didn't smell too strongly of rotting fish were collected.
I don't think they will remain in our possession for too long as on our return to the warmth of the house is causing the odour to increase in its pungency.
